L’architetto Lucio Iezzi è nato nel 1950.
Nel 1968 si diploma presso l’Accademia Albertina di Belle Arti di Torino, proseguendo qui gli studi universitari in Architettura presso il Politecnico dove consegue la laurea nel 1975.
In questa Facoltà segue i corsi di industrial design tenuti da Achille Castiglioni e le lezioni di Bruno Munari da cui certamente gli deriva quell’atteggiamento progettuale fondato sulla ricerca di semplificazioni operative nella coscienza dei limiti tecnologici e rispetto delle proprietà dei materiali. Il risultato di questa impostazione è “… un linguaggio espressivo immediato, fatto di un’estetica mai preordinata ma conseguenziale e interamente giustificata da una visione progettuale suggerita da processi costruttivi …” (Nelson Di Maggio, Buenos Aires 1998).
A metà degli Anni ’80 l’attività professionale si orienta anche al settore argentiero, intraprendendo una produzione in proprio di carattere innovativo.
Dal 1992 inizia una ulteriore ricerca specifica sul gioiello, concepita sul design di soggetti realizzabili solo artigianalmente e ispirati da logiche costruttive in cui si fondono e alternano manualità e progettazione seriale. Attualmente la ricerca svolta consta di oltre 2000 modelli originali.
Nel 1996 assume la direzione e curatoria della mostra itinerante ARGENTI ITALIANI-SELEZIONE DESIGN, condotta in collaborazione con la Direzione Generale delle Relazioni Culturali del Ministero degli Affari Esteri: una collezione di 100 opere rappresentative della più qualificata produzione moderna nazionale che viene esposta in 20 musei d’Europa, Stati Uniti e America Latina.
A questa raccolta appartengono otto realizzazioni di Iezzi.
Le esperienze di Iezzi si estendono al design dei complementi di arredo ed in ambito prettamente artistico.

Architect Lucio Iezzi was born in Italy in 1950.
He attends the Accademia Albertina di Belle Arti ( Fine Arts Academy ) in Turin, Italy, graduating in 1968. In 1975 he gets his university degree in architecture at the Politecnico of Turin with a master in prefabricated building and the attendance of the course held by Achille Castiglioni and Bruno Munari on industrial design.
The fundamentals of his craft stem from his direct knowledge of the technical production reality, based on his search for basic plainness and for compliance with technological limits.
The result of this upbringing is “an instinctive expressive language made of a never predetermined rather consequential aesthetics, entirely justified by the plan vision suggested by the manufacturing process” (Nelson Di Maggio, Buenos Aires 1998).
This planning concept applied by Iezzi during all his activity delineates this professional like one of the more engaged in researching modernity and evolution in silverware and jewellery. More than two thousand samples indicate the dimension and the engagement of Iezzi in the field of precious items.
In 1984 Iezzi established his own company for the production of silverware.
In 1992 he opened a workshop dedicated to the research in handmade jewellery.
In 1996 the Cultural Relations Management of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Italy entrusted Iezzi as the curator of a selection of Italian precious modern silverware works, created over the past 30 years and designed by over 70 authors: twenty-two exhibitions were held in museums of Europe, Latin America and United States over five years. The collection includes 8 works of Iezzi.
Moreover, his interests extend also to the artistic expression with graphic and plastic works.
